Need to be Amazed? Open a Book!

There are so many wonderful things available, it’s a matter of digging deep and finding it. There are lots of book lovers out there. Book lovers of all types, genres, and walks of life. It doesn’t matter though, because the one thing we have in common is the love of that astonishing thing: a book.

Oh, I did love your read-aloud post. I especially liked your graphics. I agree with you that you are never too old for read aloud. Companies that specialize in books on tape and CD wouldn’t exist if that was so.

Students with a visual handicap can get free audio books through a governnment program.

My public library has hundreds of books on tape and CD available for free checkout.

Students could record their own books on tape with Audacity. CDs are cheap in bulk at Sam’s Club (last I checked about 25 cents each) and a microphone can be obtained for about $10.

Here are some great resources for recorded books commercially available.

Oh, I love ‘books on tape” too! 🙂 Thanks for the links! I like the idea about having the students record. I’ve done book commercials where they video tape, but audio recording is another option. Like building the classroom library with student made books, but also with student made audio books. 🙂
